About Discount Parts Exchange

Discount Parts Exchange was founded in 1997 by three partners with decades of combined experience in the heavy-duty truck parts industry: Paul Crow, Hans Holtz, and Bob Rausch.

When we first opened, we operated primarily as a wholesale drivetrain supplier — providing remanufactured transmissions, differentials, PTOs, and components to other rebuilders across the region. But over time, we recognized a growing need: someone local offering truly high-quality reman units, not just a can of paint and a new seal. You’ve got plenty of “aerosol overhaul” and middle-of-the-road rebuilders out there — we set out to be different.

The idea was simple: build a business that truck owners, fleets, and installers could count on for quality drivetrain components, honest advice, and fast, dependable service.

In the early years, we focused on reman transmissions and differentials for local fleets and owner-operators throughout Mansfield and central Ohio. As our reputation grew, so did our reach.

Today, we serve customers nationwide through our online store, TruckParts4U.com — offering remanufactured drivetrain units, OEM take-offs, and hard-to-find surplus parts, all backed by decades of real-world experience.

Founders & Current Management

Paul Crow was one of our three original founders — old school to the core. If you knew Paul, you know he liked to live hard, work hard, and party even harder. We lost him in 2007, but his legend lives on. His grit, standards, and no-nonsense style still influence how we do business every day.

Hans Holtz is our go-to guy for all things gearing — diagnostics, troubleshooting, inside sales, and keeping the workflow steady through The Reman Center. Whether he’s in teardown checking specs or managing the backlog, if gears are involved, Hans is in the middle of it.

Bob Rausch wears a few too many hats — inside and outside sales, customer support, marketing, and managing our online presence (which mostly means trying not to break it). He’s also behind the research, sourcing, and surplus parts listings you’ll find on the site.
